DIY Twizzler Firecrackers

I’ve been seeing a lot of cute crafts using toilet paper rolls, so I had to jump on the bandwagon and make these DIY Twizzler firecrackers crafts, only I used paper towel rolls instead.  When cut in half, they are a little bigger, and were the perfect size (not to mention NOT in the bathroom!)

This is what I used – it’s a very simple craft.  I cut paper towel rolls in half, gathered up some scrapbook paper and embellishments, and a little Mod Podge.

Since these will be used at our Patriot’s Palooza Memorial Day party, I wanted to ensure the base was secure and also solid.  The first step after cutting the paper towel rolls was to wrap with some duck tape.

fc2

I cut the paper a little longer than the roll, then cut slats, so it would fold over, then Mod Podged it to the roll.

I used coordinating paper, and made a few simple designs.

Nothing too fancy, but I thought it was a fairly easy, quick and fun craft to make for the party.  Oh yeah… and perfect for Twizzlers!

These Twizzler Firecrackers will be great for our Patriot’s Palooza party, and also the 4th of July or any other patriotic holiday or event.
