River Farm Garden Tour

Part of our Summer Staycation was a trip down the road to the George Washington River Farm, a 25 acre historic site along the Potomac River.  The gardens were not only beautiful but very kid friendly.  Check it out…

Visitors are greeted with the Estate House.

Before touring the gardens, of course you have to stop and enjoy the beautiful view of the Potomac River.

Enjoy the gardens.  They are stunning!

Yes, I did say kid friendly. They had many structures made out of natural elements for kids to climb over, crawl under, jump on, run through, etc, etc.  See the picture below?  Doesn’t it look like a little grove of tree plants?   Yes and no.  There is a maze through it.

Another structure for the kids to run through.

There were as many butterflies as species of plants.  The butterflies were everywhere!

Fly past you later, alligator!

Love, hugs, and enjoying another free summer vacation.
