THANK YOU

In no particular order, I would like to extend a heartfelt and appreciative thank you to the following people:

  • Everyone who donated, contributed, and helped to get the word out.
  • Booz Allen Hamilton for their donation of Washington National tickets.
  • Nation Tours and Transportation for their donation of Potomac River cruises.
  • My Tribe for their endless dedication to getting the word out.
  • All of my Blog Buddies for their sponsorship and advertisement.
  • My babysitters and volunteer helpers.
  • My parents for their help and support.
  • Hubby for his patience and support.

I couldn’t have done it without you!

The  Food

While the food was not the highlight of the party, there certainly was ample.  These were just two of the tables – there was more.

The Decorations

The fundraising station was the first thing that everyone saw when they came through the door.

Then they walked through the kitchen with pink and white tule and party lanterns.

The Donations

After:

  • 2 months of planning (well, one year but who’s counting)
  •  5 pounds of fudge and bark
  • 200+ truffles (and minor carpal tunnel from all of the rolling)
  • 75 ladies (give or take)
  • 1 month of social media promotions……

Drum roll please…..

We raised just under $4,000 for two amazing breast cancer organizations.    The donation pages are still open and I am so excited and appreciative of everyone who helped to make this a success.

Love, hugs, and already thinking about next year.

  14. Shepi

    Holly -
What an amazing gift – to your friends and family, and to the warrior sisters and their families – thank you for sharing the pictures, the process, and the delicious food – ok, a few chocolates made it all the way home to John … but not as many as left your house in the husband-bag…..

Apologies for not having gotten and read your book before this – but I started it yesterday, and couldn’t put it down! Even though I remembered many of the emails, and have shared adventures with you over the years, I was overwhelmed by the courage, grace, love, and joy you express not only in your life and through the diagnosis and fight, but eh joy with which you’ve embraced the responsibility of survivorship (Luke 12:48). Your choice to laugh through this, share the journey, and now to create a fun, useful, PINK website and books, and to be so responsive to others dealing with this disease, are inspiring to others wondering how to give back. God’s challenge and offer – thank you for the road map. Be warned – you may have many mini-me’s thriving in their own area because of your courageous example.

Oh, and I’ve been giving my girl cousins a gift each year – your book will be 2014s – I suspect all have or will be dealing with such a challenge, and can find joy in the journey with you by their sides.

    With love, hugs and respect,

    - Shepi

    1. Holly

Hi Shepi – Thank you for being a constant support and dear friend before, during, and after. It was a tough fight as you know, and I appreciate all of your support not just during treatment, but to the cause. This life isn’t anything I ever dreamed about, but I know that it is God’s gift to have me here doing what I do. And wow, very kind of you to give my ole coconut head as a present! Love and hugs, Holly
