This Lemon Lime Cake recipe has been around forever in many different variations. I’m not sure where it originated, but this is my favorite way to make it.
I love the mix of the lemon lime flavors. Ok, who are we kidding here… I love that it is semi-homemade! Grab a box of Betty Crocker Yellow Cake Mix and a few extras, like Jello Instant Vanilla Pudding, and you will be baking in minutes.
The glaze is optional, but that’s the best part of the cake, right? My preference is to bake this cake in a bunt pan. There are just some cakes that deserve the bunt pan and this is one of them.
You can use the juices of a real lemon and lime for the cake and the glaze, or the bottled kind. The beauty of semi-homemade is you can add as much or as little of your own touches as you like.

Wouldn’t this be perfect with afternoon tea sitting on a warm spring porch?
Grab a Flirty Apron and let’s start baking!
Love, hugs, and making a cake when handed a lemon (and lime).
