Freedom Drops – A Patriotic Treat

While this recipe certainly isn’t unique, I love the red, white, and blue take on these Freedom Drops.  It’s an easy to make snack for your 4th of July party that everyone will enjoy!

The ingredients are simple – pretzels, melts and M&M’s.  Very patriotic for Memorial Day or the 4th of July.

Place the pretzels and melts on a baking sheet and heat in an oven at 300 degrees for 4 or 5 minutes.  Remove and immediately and gently place an M&M on top of each melt.  Let cool and enjoy at your summer gathering!

Forgive me for not knowing but what are “melts”? Thanks, these are great treats to make.

Hi Julia – They are little disc type candies that come in all different colors. Wilton sells them, and you can get them at places like Michaels, HobLob and other craft shops. You can also use Hershey Kisses instead of the melts. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Holly

Where did you find the red, white and blue melts?? We are leaving for the beach on the 4th of July and these would be so nice to take with us in the car for a snack.

Hi Sheena – You can purchase the melts at a craft store like Hob Lob or Michael’s. Worst case, there is always Amazon but you should be able to find them locally. Happy 4th of July to you and your family! Hugs, Holly

Thanks Holly!! I was in the parking lot of the shopping center where Michael’s is when my phone went off showing me the notice of your email so the kids and I ran in there and grabbed some.
